I'm officially 25 years and one month today, but on my birthday last month the Alcaldia employees bought me a cake and shoved my face in it (as is customary).
I then went to a cerveceria with my buddy Don Beto (the short one in the first picture) and Evita, a volunteer from my region...

Hello Brendan!! first of all, HAPPY BELATED B-DAY!!! happy to know that you spent a nice time! :) i have been reading your posts, they are really interesting and i can know your approach, motivations, experiences, thoughts... about being a volunteer in this land :) i'm a salvadorean from the capital city, i study graphic design and currently i am working on a project about international volunteers in my country. (this is how i got to your blog page :)) I have learned so many things from it, my mind has been opened to realize about many things, and all because of you guys!! you can have a view of something, read about the rates, history, the news... all kind of stuffs... but it's different to read about your experiences at the countryside, how do you develop and sacrifice yourselves (cause you are used to a totally different lifestyle... and suddenly a shock!!... and still being able to look the right side to everything, and WHAT TO DO for it, TAKE ACTION) :) I really admire you, and you have such a great heart, YOU GUYS are a model to follow, the duty should be for everybody to make this world better, and this case the development of my country in many different aspects, (education, health, security, cultural values...)so you are a motivation to make us part of it! :), you are a blessing. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
